"Have you heard the story of the young man who slays dragons?"
Wu Yu
FULL NAME
Wu Yu, Xiao-yu, Xiao-wu, Yu
GOES BY
LOL I mean 31-32 probably but he Babey Fais so it's canonically hard to tell & people mistake him for MUCH younger all the time
AGE
Tunhai
CANON
Chapter 160
CANON POINT
Human
SPECIES
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
APPEARANCE
178CM, very thin, eyes canonically described as 'black' and given how the manhua illustrated him we are going with mostly appearing black with gradations of very dark gray, very young looking despite being in his thirties and so mistaken for much younger consistently and constantly. black hair, pale, a sort of neutral to listless expression until he opens up (if, if) or something causes that default neutrality to open up.
IDENTIFYING ASPECTS
light scars on much of his body but they are light enough that they can be missed without attention being drawn to them directly, some newer ones less ignorable, big tattoo of a bird closed in a circle on his back along with deeper scars a little less faded
CLOTHING STYLE
overall very casual, t-shirts that always seem too big, black and white, a ring which is very close to the hand with the edges slightly tightened to form corners rather than completely rounded.
VOICE
looking for a link, but for now: generally mild/soft, not exactly 'reserved' but the kind of voice that can make you feel confident in him without force.
OLFACTORY
clean but otherwise nothing demanding notice, much like his voice, understated
ABILITIES
combat
well versed in fighting, wu yu is well acquainted with knifes, guns, and his bare hands. despite his first-impression of thin verging on weak, it is more accurate to view wu yu as the core necessity of survival; so what is there, counts -- capable of taking on multiple assailants playing dirty, as well as individuals who, by the naked eye, outmatch him. with over a decade of undercover work in high stakes drug rings and a life previously equally demanding of opium field labor and bodyguarding, to be blunt: his body is misleading with how thin and misleadingly young he can seem. that said, it might be helpful to consider that wu yu is very feline in his athleticism: powerful, fast, silent, and depending on the situation, potentially more than a little feral. of his many nicknames in canon 'god of war' was one.
Braincell wu yu is very, very smart. self-taught to a high level in physics and chemistry, life-wise experientially unrivaled in terms of survival in devastating situations and/or hopeless seeming ones, capacity to be incredibly tactical and efficient. he is able to analyze, reason, and execute as well as garner information from others in a way that is well informed by his various experiences and observations of others.
ETC
like a cat can survive massive falls though not without insane injury since he's just a human lol (range seems to be 16 stories to 8 to less, depending on the situation!) his perception is also very keen (i.e. knowing someone who is actively trying to be silent/not noticed outside a closed door.)

MANIFESTATION
NAME
Hunger Game ( ooc of course as i don't think his manifestation would ICly name itself. also please excuse the lack of an image for now while i try to find something that is reasonably comparable to the description...though a broken image link kind of works for the Vibe lmfao )
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
iiif a body mutilated by heavy artillery and previously intense malnutrition and poverty in general could also survive lifelong consumption of opium and rotting human flesh, then this is the creature! which is to say, the look would be of a disfigured human body, impossible to tell male or female (if it ever was), bleeding as if freshly blown up despite maintaining its vague human shape. the smell is that of ammunition, blood, and the more specific scent of often-not-fresh human flesh being boiled for the next meal. the trail it leaves is, as expected, generously bloody, and when it speaks its voice is again impossible to gender but more unnervingly: quiet, almost gentle.
ATTACKS AND BEHAVIOR
overall: this manifestation is wu yu-centric to the point of ignoring others unless they get in its way. basic auto-responses for anyone not wu-yu would only range from: "eat." to "more." that said, its effects can and will target obstacles, whether intentional or accidental; anything 'in the way' is fair game. with wu yu, basic dialogue options (not by his choosing of course, rng it) are his old name "agui" and "eat" and "help" β the last 'sounding' like an earnest plea but offset by the fact that the manifestation is the one in pursuit.
action 1: hunger of course. the mind is absolutely overwhelmed with a crippling hunger, as if starved for a long, long time. with the sense of starvation accelerated, the intent of the manifestation is for target A to give in to their basest/most feral nature and hopefully try to eat what or whoever is closest. so forced cannibalism. if the target succumbs, they enter a sort of zombie-reminiscent state that would be difficult to break them from after that defeat. potential solutions not guaranteed: physical bodily harm, letting them take a bite out of you BEFORE trying to reason with them, killing them.
action 2: the first action is the preliminary antagonism. if action 1 doesn't work, then action 2 comes into play with a lot more violence, fueling the fog of intense starvation with the sounds of gunfire and explosions mashed into the distinct, unrelenting sense of being chased. if action 1 DOES work, then the sounds and sense of dreaded pursuit are potentially more gradual under that unrelenting hunger, fraying the nerves and duly tearing apart the individual's sense of trust of the surroundings. think war veteran lapses and add some horror elements and that is the vibe of it, and in wu yu's case, very much what he would experience: village being blown up complete with raining body parts, the resulting even worse famine where people ate water with boiled human meat, and then the sense that he has and always will be running, and that he has to do so, ultimately, alone.

FLIRTING
you can but don't expect too much in return unless he's playing a role likely to get information or something....
SHIPPING
likewise same as above. he's got major trust issues so! that said, unrequited is a favorite jam so if yours would be in that camp @ wu yu, that is fine.
FIGHTING & INJURING
yes. despite being an ordinary human, wu yu has survived a lot which should have killed him. which is to say he can go through a Lot. he has experience in underground fighting rings and more.
KILLING
open to it, and it's very possible given wu yu's bad habit of kamikaze. if you're interested in it, let me know!
MINDREADING
yes but you might want to reach out depending on the scenario. wu yu's mind is both a sharply honed weapon and a buried ghost of many mine fields. heavily situation specific, i can give you more information on what your character might see or feel from him.
WARNINGS
canon warnings are as follows: trauma, kidnapping, suicide, drugs and drug use, violence, gun violence, gore, death, rape, cannibalism, dismemberment, prostitution, drowning, murder.
TRIGGERING TOPICS
1. meat smell, taste, etc is one of them. he's violently averse and will be easily sick from it. 2. harm threatened or enacted on bu chonghua 3. a little widespread but there are moments that can set off his 'do i deserve to live' switch (and have him sit right down in a burning house, yay), but this is not shackled to a Single thing. that said, it can happen and a fair general tie would be there is a factor of some past trauma: fire, forced drug consumption, torture, or the face of someone who looks a great deal...like him.
